Fiona Read

My name is Fiona and I have worked in the dental profession for 40 plus years. I started off as a dental nurse working my way up to lead nurse and trained fellow nurses along the way. I have had the privilege of working with some very skilled surgeons over the years and have the experience of working within the N.H.S as well as the private sector. I trained and qualified as a bereavement counsellor in 2008 and worked as a counsellor for neo-natal loss at Poole Maternity Hospital for 12 years. I have enjoyed my career and witnessed how dentistry has improved over the years (for the better). I have been working at The Ackerman Clinic for the past 11 years. I feel like part of the furniture now! The most fulfilling aspect of my time here is having our patients returning over the years and getting to know them closely. My training and empathetic approach help me connect with our patients helping them in their oral health journeys with us. I enjoy the gym and keeping fit; my son is a personal trainer so no pressure there! I also enjoy spending time on the beach when I’m able to.
