Mr. Bharath Puttur

Welcome to our practice. Let me introduce myself. I am Bharath and I have over 20 years’ experience in the speciality or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery which began with my BDS degree in 2004 from India. Following this, I trained at the Royal London Hospital completing the PGDDS course in 2007, with a focus on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Medicine. My extensive training in craniofacial distraction, trauma management, orthognathic surgery along with head and neck skin surgery at various units including University Hospital at Coventry, Southampton General Hospital and Peterborough City Hospital have helped mould me into the surgeon I am today. I have been a Locum Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Peterborough City Hospital for 9 year now. Giving back to the wonderful vocation that has nurtured me has always been an integral part of me and in keeping with this, among other things, I am a panel member for National recruitment of dental trainees and an Educational Supervisor for junior doctors in my hospital role. In addition, I serve as a Regional Advisor for Dentistry for East of England through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPS Glas.) and am an associate member and faculty for Strasbourg Osteosynthesis Research Group (SORG) for pre-prosthetic surgery. I also lecture on various current topics relevant to Oral Surgery via varied platforms including Dentinal Tubules and run a hands-on trauma management course in India for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Trainees. I also mentor colleagues for dental implantology and pre-prosthetic surgery. My special interest is in full mouth implant rehabilitation with All-on-4/All-on-6 same day teeth treatments. At The Ackerman Clinic, we are one of the few centres in the country that offer and excel in Zygomatic implants and Sub-Periosteal implants- using custom made implants for patient where conventional implants may not be suitable. My wife, Saumya and I, have a beautiful son who occupies all our time outside of work. My hobbies include playing cricket for my local club, painting and a special love for Astronomy and stargazing.
